Standing before 1,300 people seated in the Von Braun Center North Hall, Marjorie Bermudez Bernal and Pammie Jimmar shared their stories of overcoming the odds and having hope because genetics testing is helping to change the outlook for those diagnosed with cancer.

“The work at HudsonAlpha (Institute of Biotechnology) is outstanding from where we were 18 years ago,” Bernal said at the Tie the Ribbons 2019 Luncheon held Thursday. “HudsonAlpha is changing our lives and the Information is Power Initiative and Kailos Genetics can give you information to help you be proactive with your health.”
